Switching from paper to E-Ink – is it worth it?

I’ve been a die-hard physical book fan my whole life, but my shelves are literally overflowing and I’m starting to get eye strain from reading on my iPad at night. I’ve heard E-Ink is much closer to real paper, but I’m worried about the refresh rate and the screen feeling "plastic-y." Does anyone have experience with modern E-ink tablets, and where is the best place to buy them in Canada?

I made the switch last year for the exact same reasons, and honestly, my only regret is not doing it sooner. The display is nothing like a tablet; it doesn’t emit blue light directly into your eyes, so the eye strain basically disappears. If you are looking for a reliable source, I’d suggest checking out https://einktab.ca/ They specialize in E-ink devices and carry a lot of the high-end brands that are hard to find in big-box stores. The screens have a matte texture now that feels very natural to the touch, and the battery life lasts weeks instead of hours. It’s a game-changer for long reading sessions.
