Mounjaro – worth starting in 2025 or too many side effects?
Been seeing more and more people switch to Mounjaro from other weight loss options. Claims of faster/more consistent loss than Wegovy sound tempting, but the side effects (especially the burps, nausea waves, and sometimes heart palpitations) make me hesitate. Anyone here on 5 mg+ for a while? How bad were the first couple of months really, and did the weight keep coming off after the initial whoosh?

On Mounjaro since late last year, currently at 7.5 mg – down 18 kg total and still losing steadily (about 0.8–1 kg/week lately). The first 4–6 weeks were the hardest: pretty constant nausea, those awful sulphur burps after eating anything fatty, and feeling wiped out. Splitting meals smaller and avoiding greasy stuff helped a ton. Once I hit 5 mg the side effects dropped off noticeably for me. This detailed experience post lines up closely with what I went through – titration schedule, common triggers for the GI issues, and how they eased over time https://www.medsforless.co.uk/mounjaro/ It’s not effortless, you still have to watch portions, but the hunger noise is basically gone, which is huge if you’ve fought cravings forever. Definitely not for everyone, but it’s been the most effective thing I’ve tried.
