Custom Millwork Recommendations in Toronto?

Hi all, I'm planning a kitchen reno next year and also need some built-in shelving and cabinetry for the living room. I've seen a ton of options online, but a lot of the big box places feel kind of cookie-cutter and not super high quality for the price. Has anyone worked with a good local custom millwork company in the GTA recently? Looking for something solid, nice finishes, and reasonable turnaround time without insane costs. Any suggestions or companies to avoid?

Solid wood has that classic warm look and feels premium underfoot, but it can creak more over time if humidity swings a lot. Engineered is quieter and more stable year-round here. We went solid oak through Alliance Millwork when we redid ours two years ago — they matched the existing style perfectly and the finish has held up great with kids and dogs running up and down. Process was straightforward: measured on-site, good communication, installed cleanly. Pricing was fair for the detail work. Take a look at some of their stair projects here https://alliancemillwork.ca/ if you want real examples before deciding. Would do it again.
